Finding a Discount Wedding Dress

A wedding dress is often the most most expensive part of the whole event. If you are planning a wedding on a budget, then look out for a discount wedding dress.

Discount wedding dresses can be sale items, second hand or DIY. Some places deal in discount dresses, for example, they only work online so without the overheads they can afford to knock something off the price. But, the best bargains usually come from sales.

Sales are a great source for discount wedding dresses. These might be designer direct sales or salon sales. Designers often have sales of discount wedding dresses when a new collection comes out – any samples or stock overruns are no longer needed and are sold off at great discount. These sales will be announced locally and will result in a mad rush for the best bargains.

Salons may have sales at the end of a season when new lines come in but might also have a regular sale rack of, for example, orders which were not collected for one reason or another, last item in a line, or sample designs and these again are a great source for a discount wedding dress.

Second hand dresses can be found in local ads, on eBay, in local stores, from relatives... There are also once-worn dealers who buy designer wear and wedding dresses and you might be able to pick up a discount wedding dress that way. Second hand/once worn dresses may need to be dry cleaned, depending on where it was purchased, and will almost certainly need adjusting to fit you perfectly but are a good source for a discount wedding dress.

Then there is the DIY option. This will most likely give you the biggest discount. If you know someone good with a sewing machine and trust them enough to make a dress, then let them do it.
